Worcestershire (/ˈwʊstərʃər/ ( listen) WUUS-tər-shər, /-ʃɪər/ -sheer; written abbreviation: Worcs) is a county in the West Midlands of England. Between 1974 and 1998, it was merged with the neighbouring county of Herefordshireas Hereford and Worcester.
